Hollywood A-listers are anything but exempt from getting blacklisted in showbiz. Mel Gibson, an actor, producer, and director, used to be a big deal from the ‘80s to the mid-2000s. That was until things started spiraling out of control in 2006: he was arrested for DUI and went on an antisemitic tirade against the arresting officer. In 2010, Gibson’s career plummeted after getting caught on camera making racist and misogynist comments. Despite making a praiseworthy comeback six years later as the director of Hacksaw Ridge, Gibson is still largely blacklisted from the big screens.
