And we can NOT calm down. If you haven’t been living under a rock, like the rest of us, you’ve already seen the trailer for Hamilton , the musical that premiered on Disney+ on July 3rd. Inspired by a biography written by Ron Chernow, the movie is a representation of the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the USA from the 18th century. The movie is a live recording that was featured on Broadway in 2015. Since it would be challenging to express how we feel in words, here are a few interesting facts about the film.

1. The iconic star poster

There were about 30 poster designs that were in the talks for the official Broadway show. Some of them included ink-stain designs, designs with quills, spray paint-inspired designs, and gothic H’s. They, however, had to step back to let the star shine. Posted by @hamiltonmusical

2. The Hamilton mixtape

After the success of Hamilton: An American Musical, an album The Hamilton Mixtape was released. It comprised tracks from the musical and a few deleted numbers. It was later released as CDs, vinyls, and 12-track cassette tapes. Image from @hamiltonmusical.

3. The opening track “Alexander Hamilton”

Starting with a flair for drama lovers, this track has everything it needs to hook the audience. The verses foreshadow the soul of the story and emphasize on Hamilton’s childhood and past trauma, with Eliza adding to the fun factor. Post from @hamiltonmusical.

4. The free pre-show

After a cryptic tweet by Lin-Manuel Miranda (@lin_manuel), it was no surprise that Richard Rodgers found himself facing thousands of Hamilfans who knew, without any preamble, what was to come. Each pre-show performance began promptly at 5:55, and no one knew what to expect.

5. The F-bombs

While fans were expecting the movie to be censor-free, it was rather disheartening that two of the f-bombs were taken out for the film to be PG-13. The cast assured us that it didn’t affect the storytelling in any way. @PatrickADougall explains his take beautifully.

6. “Helpless” or “Satisfied”

You have probably heard “Helpless” performed by Jimmy Fallon, alongside the original cast of the Broadway musical. We are trying not to give away too much, but we can tell you that it is played with “Satisfied” and foreshadows quite a lot! Post by @hamiltonmusical.

7. King George III

Jonathan Groff plays the antagonist in the first act and made his mark as an enticing King George III. Although he plays the character for just under 10 minutes, he has a powerful impact on the audience. Post by @jonathandrewgroff.

8. Last-minute changes

While the film was supposed to be released in theatres in 2021, the current global situation led the team to have a different approach. And what better day to release such a historic masterpiece than a day before Independence Day, right? Photo from @hamiltonmusical.
